yep, your loopback IP ( 127.0.0.1 ) must be up in order to start PD.
all you usually need to do is to start the network service ( something like "/etc/rc.d/init.d/network start" ) then ping 127.0.0.1, if it's ok, PD's error will disappear.

Hello, and sorry if this has already been answered but i didn't have much luck searching the archives. I installed Pd 0.35 test 26 on my debian
linux
at home and everytime i try to start pd it fails and says it can't connect
to
the network - Error (101). I don't have my computer connected to any network, so i'm not sure what exactly is going on. Any hints as to how to resolve this would be greatly aprreciated.
