netsend/receive can communicate with any tcp/udp port.
And the FUDI protocol is very easy to parse: a string of words and numbers separated by spaces, and terminated with ";" and a linefeed.
But I do not have any idea what director,flash,.. can do... (If they support any more or less mighty language, they should be able to communicate via tcp or udp)
There used to be a director xtra for tcp communication called xtranet. The source code was provided. But I can't find it anymore...
