a workaround i mostly use to avoid this trouble is to run two
instances of pd, one for the sound and the other one for gem (with
dsp 0). then comunicate between them via netsend or OSC. this is
working very well.

is there a kind of equivalent to the "-audiobuf" option of Pd's audio system in Gem? I sometimes run Pd with a large audiobuffer when I'm also using Gem to avoid clicks, but then the graphics updates seem to happen earlier than the audio signal arrives which is something I would like to avoid.
