Hello list,
just to know, besides [mrpeach/midifile], is there any other way of
reading a midi file into Pd, and list the events/metadata/etc. inside?

This happens to me, when i open a patch, which i saved before with more than the main window open. In other words, if there is an underlying subpatcher open, then the command-E might turn the subpatcher into editing mode, instead of the main patcher in front.

I need to make this configuration (pay attention only to audio):
First, I thought using NetJack... but I don't know if it is possible.
Then, I found netsend~ and netreceive~ (from
http://www.nullmedium.de/dev/netsend~/), but they are compiled to 32
bits arch (I didn't compile them to 64 yet).
Also, somebody told me about Scenic (https://github.com/sat-metalab/scenic)
Could anybody of this list tell me what is the best approach? Another idea?
Thanks.
Dear All,
We'd like members from this community to review paper submissions for the up-and-coming convention in NY/NJ. We think it's important that Pd users have their say on what work is shown in November.
If you'd be willing to review an extended abstract, please drop an email to rgraham1(a)stevens.edu <mailto:rgraham1@stevens.edu> (cc. jo57(a)nyu.edu <mailto:jo57@nyu.edu>) by Friday this week.
We'd very much appreciate your service and input.
All the best,
Ricky
hi all
is there any abstraction or external that allows to detect silence in
the sound in? I mean if the amplitude drops below a threshold for a
given period of time.
I was thinking about how to get this going to try to build it myself
then I thought there might be some external or abstraction that already
does what I need. Tired of reinventing the wheel...
thanks

hi list,
i recorded 3 times in a studio last year that uses a daw/pc
interconnection by pyramix, basically it is a hacked windows system,
where one or two cores of a multicore cpu are completely hidden from the
system. these cores are then acessed directly by the daw and used as a
very powerful dsp. the system is incredible! lowest latencies, high
trackcount, and the breakout to the adc/dac is a simple network cable.
see here for additional info:
http://www.merging.ch/products/pyramix/masscore
i since wondered if this would be a way to go for puredata? at least on
linux it seems very easy to deactivate a core (but i don't know if it
than can be used directly by a process) : echo 0 >
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online for core2 for example.
is this a completely stupid idea? note that i have no idea how hard it
would be to implement something like this
thanks for any insight
Hi all,
Have you seen this? Anyone tried to implement this with Pd with GEM?
Two papers outline two different approaches:
http://people.csail.mit.edu/mrub/papers/vidmag.pdf
and the more recent:
http://people.csail.mit.edu/mrub/vidmag/papers/Balakrishnan_Detecting_Pulse_
from_2013_CVPR_paper.pdf
A video overview of the processes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?

I don't follow the maths myself but I was wondering if you think something
like these systems could be implemented in Pd/ GEM with a live feed from
[pix_video]. I know we already have blob tracking. Theoretically it should
be possible?

Anyone interested in this? It seems to have a lot of potential within Pd,
for example interactive installations.
