Hi!
I'm wondering how to compile GEM.
I checked all the libraries, got everything, and now i get errors,
seems like the code is not proper.
In short words, if somebody knows stable compiling release.
I got RedHat 7.1.
Thanks in advamce.

Hi,
I'd like to test some LADSPA plugins with pd-0.34 but I can't get the
plugin~ object to work. I downloaded plugin~-0.2, ./configured and
installed it, but if I run
$ pd -lib /usr/pd/extra/plugin~/plugin~.pd_linux
I get this error:
/usr/pd/extra/plugin~/plugin~.pd_linux: can't load library
Could you help me?

Someone posted a link to a patch for a drum kit/machine this morning. You
might try looking at that.

I am a student at SUNY Purchase, taking a sound art course under Liz
Phillips this semester, and I am interested in learning my way around PD for
use in some projects. Can anyone point me to some good tutorials or
information on learning PD? I have read through most of the documentation
that comes with the program, but I am still kind of lost. This type of
software environment is pretty new to me, and I know there is a steep
learning curve, but I think it will be well worth my time and effort to
become comfortable with the program. If anyone has any advice or comments,
I would greatly appreciate them. Max/MSP, PD, and the like have not, as far
as I know, ever been instructed or used at my school; so, by learning more
about this program I will also be introducing it to many other students and
instructors who could benefit from PD.
Thanks,
Josh Tonsfeldt

Hi all,
There's a serious problem with Pd 0.34; if you close a window that contains
selected items, Pd dies. I think the best way to fix this will be automatically
to deselect everything in a window before closing it. I'll work on that and
put out a revised version, hopefully this weekend.
cheers

one totally newbie question. ive been going thru the 11 page tutorial online as well as the number examples in the pd folder. conceptually im not grasping some things. can pd be used as a sequencer - for itself or other machines? i get the whole making patches thing, but how do i play them (thinking like patches on a synth)? and/or do i play them from pd only?
thanks for your patience.

just to let the right people know... the email address
on the pure-data.org page (jfm3(a)pure-data.org)
doesn't seem to work... and searching the list archive
don't work either.
hello list,
I am using Max/Msp/nato for about 2 years now and want to make a step to
pd/gem in order to use inexpensive computer equipment for video
installations. I installed pd on a pc with win98. after running the gem
installer pd still cannot find the gem objects. (When I open a gem testpatch
pd doesn't initialize the connections). Some advice what I did wrong? Thanks
for your help. John.
