I've run into this problem now with PD 0.3.8-3 and PD 0.3.8-2hcs0...
A fair number of PD patches available on the web use an object named
grid and I'm not sure where I should be getting this object, external
or abstraction.
Any help?
thanks,
Anthony
hi. Everytime i send the message " set sound" to the syncgrain object
it reads the table (sound ) from the begining.
Is it possible that the syncgrain object begins processing a sound from
a random position of the table?
any hint?
thanx

Hey all,
I've made a few variations on the float-help.pd PDDP style design that I
think are an improvement.
I've listed pros and cons, includes screenshots and the PD patches on
the wiki:
http://puredata.org/Members/bbogart/DraftReferenceDesigns
Please take a look and post comments and whatever is the favorite will
be refined for another run. How do we determine which is the favorite?
Thanks for taking a look.
B.
PS: sorry for the cross-posting, hoping for some end-user opinions.
Hi list,
most of the development of pd, gem and the externals
is taking place in the cvs nowadays. This a good thing
on the one hand, because it allows for a
non-centralized and transparent software development.
On the other hand, it is not so cool, because it makes
it pretty hard for the average user to get the latest
version of this or that external with all these cool
new features ...
With average user, I refer to people with no permanent
internet connection (which is bad when one has to hunt
down a specific version of a specific library which in
turn depends on a ton of other specific libraries) and
who do not necessarily use linux (sources? compiling?
where's the installer? MinGW? what the ... ?). These
people are forced to use rather old versions. To give
an example: the latest GEM build for win is about a
year old ... and there were some very interesting
additions recently, like advanced movement detection,
freeframe-plugins and so on.
It would be great if we could establish something like
an instant build system that builds fresh version
straight from the cvs automagically once a month or
something like this. Something similar was working for
the xvid mpeg4 codec a while ago, and it was very much
appreciated by the community.
Needless to say, the usage of these versions would be
completely unsupported and "at your own risk", but I
guess that the average non-self-compiler could live
with this. In any case, more people would use fresh
versions, which will probably lead to faster bug
detection and all other sorts of benefits ...
with kind regards,
Thoralf.

Hi,
I got the mp3cast~ files from cvs and trying to make for Linux gives this:
palli@palli:~/iars/pd-0.38-0/mp3cast $ make
cc -DPD -DUNIX -O2 -funroll-loops -fomit-frame-pointer -Wall -W -Wshadow
-Wstrict-prototypes -Werror -Wno-unused -Wno-parentheses -Wno-switch -g
-I../src -o mp3amp~.o -c mp3amp~.c
mp3amp~.c: In function `mp3amp_decode_input':
mp3amp~.c:289: warning: passing arg 6 of `decodeMP3' from incompatible
pointer type
make: *** [mp3amp~.pd_linux] Error 1
Any ideas anyone?
I really, really need this to work. I've been using the precompiled
binary from Yves site and it keeps crashing on me.

Hi All,
I found this Ping Pong game I did for a composition assignment whilst cleaning up. It has no sound as I was attempting to frustrate my lecturer.
But it uses scalars to draw the game, and I recall at ICMC 04 in Miami Miller mentioned he was curious to see what people had been doing with this feature of pd. I hope someone gets some good procrastination out of this!
Get it at:
