Windows 10, Pd 51.0 - 64
start Pd, open a patch, close it, open another patch
the declares done in the first patch are still active for the next one.
a bug or a feature?
for me it was confusing until i discovered the reason.

hi
Opening a GEM window fails saying "failed to init GLEW: your system only
supports openGL-1.0" after updating OS to Big Sur
The PD version is 50.2 and the GEM version is 0.91
https://framagit.org/malinette/malinette-soft/malinette-soft-mac/-/blob/mas…
is this a known error? I could not find any references to it.
thanks

I'd say that good enough communication would be enough but "ouput0" -> "output_1" sounds fine as well, especially as it matches an existing convention.

Hi list,
just discovered that Pd's jack audio ouput ports are numbered from zero
onwards. Is this very intentional? Can't seem to think of any other
software that does it, and system ports such as soundcard ports seem to
be numbered from 1 onwards, making it easy to tip over the off-by-one
error (have movie dialoge come out of the sub woofer perhaps).
Thanks for all oppinions!

If you don't notice a problem, there isn't one. :) What macOS version are you using? 10.15?

As far as I can tell, the mouse/pointer is behaving correctly, in full-screen windows, tabbed windows, and otherwise. What should I look for specifically?

Window -> Show Tab Bar which allows you to drag and move Pd windows to a single tabbed window. We don't explicitly support this in the Pd GUI, but it *seems* to work with my build at least, including the mouse offset.

I think this is due to the fact that I'm building the Wish.app on a much newer system, so we may be at a turning point to where we need separate builds for macOS 10.9 or 10.10+. But I may be wrong about this, having jumped back and forth so much recently...

2nd Conference on AI Music Creativity (MuMe + CSMC)
18.-22. July 2021
The second joint Conference on AI Music Creativity brings together two overlapping research forums: The Computer Simulation of Music Creativity Conference (est. 2016) and The International Workshop on Musical Metacreation (est. 2012). The objective of the conference is to bring together scholars and artists interested in the emulation and extension of musical creativity through computational means and to provide them with an interdisciplinary platform in which to present and discuss their work in scientific and artistic contexts.
The 2021 Joint Conference on AI Music Creativity will be hosted by the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) of the University of Music and Performing Arts of Graz and held online. The five-day program will feature paper presentations, concerts, panel discussions, workshops, tutorials, sound installations and two keynotes.
Further details can be found below and on the conference website: https://aimc2021.iem.at/
# Conference theme
The theme of AIMC 2021 is: Performing [with] machines. The dual meaning of this title hints towards an understanding of the machine as a performing agent in a human-machine partnership. By putting the emphasis on creative human-machine partnerships in performative contexts, this theme aims to encourage artistic and scientific contributions that deal with the different ways in which musicianship, authorship and performership are challenged, extended and redefined in the era of AI.
# Call for Papers
We invite submissions of full papers, work-in-progress papers and demos on topics related to AI Music Creativity. For the first time, our call for papers includes a “piece and paper” category, for papers linked with a music submission.
# Call for Music
We invite artistic submissions that deal with topics related to AI music creativity, involving machines, machine learning and dealing with topics related to agency. We especially encourage and promote submissions that address AI from diverse technical and non-technical as well as critical angles with regard to questions of gender, performance, ecology and aesthetics.
# Call for Workshops and Tutorials
We welcome the submission of workshop and tutorial proposals related to the conference topics. Selected workshops will be held online and take place on the first day of the conference (July 18th).
# Important dates
Submission deadline: 1. April 2021
Acceptance notification deadline: 1. May 2021
Camera-ready deadline: 1. June 2021
Conference: 18.-22. July 2021

Dear list,
if there is [adddollar( is there [removedollar( too?
I want to pack an unknown amount of numbers to a list, between 1-10. it can
be once 5, later 3 etc.
Is it possible with pd?
Best,
Popesz
That's a decent list, I guess we need a few more things before 0.51-4 is ready.
Phil:
Pd doesn't explicitly support Dark Mode, so I will add the Info.plist key to disable it for now. What you are seeing is a "mixed Dark Mode" where Tk is picking up background color changes but not font color changes as they are explicit set to white/black etc. We can revisit and enable Dark mode support in another release as it will require more work.
Yes, system dialog should stay on top of other Pd windows. I wasn't aware they were somehow on a system level. For normal Cocoa applications, that's a window level key you can set, so Tk must have changed something with how it's handling window types.
fede:
I think there is a fix for the Font dialog on Github already.
The iemguis "bug" is really my fault: when I overhauled the dialogs years ago, I made them "active" for macOS, ie. make changes and see the result immediately. The downside, is that I didn't record the original values when the dialog is first opened, so cancel cannot actually reset the previous values.
Miller:
The scrollbars fix is a patch to Tk, so you'd have to rebuild Wish.app to see the changes. Let us do some test builds first, then you can pull in any new patches which are ready and rebuild Wish.app, then replace it within mac/stuff. I don't think there is much point to rebuild the mac/stuff tarball too many times and fill the git history.

Hi list, report from 10.9.5
Regarding scrollbars
- Dan's 4-test1-scrollbars works better than before. All back to normal,
as it should be, this was not the case in 0.50-2 (had gotten used to the
quirks)
- Millers 4test2 shows grey space, when scrolling is needed, but no bars
inside that grey space. However, while guessing where the bars should be
i can click next to them and get the expected behaviour. I just can't
see the bars themselves.
As there is no system wide dark mode on 10.9.5 i cannot check for that.
Best,
jrp
