Fellow pd enthusiasts and devs,
Apart from a couple of fixes of bugs that surfaced after we implemented
infinite undo last month, as of this evening pd-l2ork has added another
important feature: moving gop-ed objects via tag. This means that even a
100000-point array will now be moved via gui with a single command with
minimal changes to the core pd code, rather than redrawing the entire
array every time the array is moved. Same goes for GOP objects and
scalars. Needless to mention, this is the first time that my netbook
allows me to move large arrays on screen as if they were simple objects :-)
If interested, check out the git at https://github.com/pd-l2ork
x86-64 and i386 builds coming up soon... I am uploading 64-bit builds as
I type this, i386 should be up sometime tomorrow. In the meantime you
can search older builds via L2Ork's website at
http://l2ork.music.vt.edu/main/?page_id=56...
Enjoy!
Best wishes,

Here's a youtube video of some of my fractal music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V47C7AlTEUw&list=UUQnqitvai5V4tuxFOGw446w&in….
to hear more click on my name and check out the burningship vids. all were
done withpd and zynaddsubfx.
I uploaded my fractal music maker patch if u get the time to try it out, it
just outputs midi, the bpm control is global and works for syncing if u
want to chain from a recorder, i use the 2 outers as drums and u dont get
no sound till u hit start and select channels and toggle the rests - all 3
equals no rest(markov) if u turn on the room and go in(pd room) hit ctrl e
to drag c around or whatever edit mode is on your machine..
http://www.geocities.ws/billy_stiltner/music/pd/burningship.zip oh yeah the
most recent is fractalmusic.pd except i have one that works with udp and a
javascript fractal i'm still working on zooming and switching fractals.
julia is not julia yet but bshipx and bshipy are.
<http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000544796521>
oh yeah underneath start are 2 thingamjigs that send metro , the left is
for everything but the far right dmachine. the right is for
dmachine(unselsect the 2 yellow toggles above dmachine to turn it off all
the way) u can send the 4 channels out to your hardware synths. I wouldn't
mess with the dmachine at first till you get everything going, I don't like
it with this stuff anyways but it's there.
My midiclock out worked on windows with reason but I cant seem to get it to
work with qtractor on linux. seems like I tried with 04.3 and spp was fixed
which did not work with windows on 04.2-6.
Ok. I have it compiled and running with the 64bit pd-extended 0.43.1
autobuild. I did something like:
___________
svn checkout http://gridflow.ca/svn/trunk
./configure --use-cpu x86-64 --no-opencv --no-dc1394 --no-libv4l1
--no-libv4l2 --no-mmx --no-mpeg3
make
______________
A couple questions. When I compile with opencv I get:
Symbol not found: _cvAdd
in the pd-console. So I compiled without opencv. Suggestions to fix? I
have opencv installed via fink.
Also in the pd-console I get:
GridFlow: can't detect this version of GEM: i=10 j=4
Which I have never seen before so I dont know that that means or how to fix.
Also when i "./configure" i get:
[quicktimeapple] Apple's QuickTime:
-------------------------------------------> missing (gcc compilation
error)
Is this a big problem? whats happens if i do:
--no-quicktimeapple
cheers

Hi,
We have recently redesigned the Faust website (http://faust.grame.fr) and
its online compiler (http://faust.grame.fr/index.php/online-examples). It
is now possible to generate Pure Data externals for Linux, Mac OSX and
Windows.
Here is how to proceed :
- click on "online examples" in the main menu
- (the first visit you have an help window, close it).
- choose an example in the catalog, for instance Synthesizers/karplus32
- (customize the faust code to your needs)
- click on tab "C++ code"
- select "puredata" in the architecture menu
- click on tab "Exec File" (can take several seconds to compile the code)
- and then press the download button and unzip the content somewhere in
your PD path.
If you are using Firefox or Chrome you can directly drag and drop faust
files from your desktop to compile them. You can also upload your own
examples in the user sections to share them.
If you have problems let me know...
Cheers
Yann

hi,
here is my problem : a symbol with a space send to stdout is transformed
to a list
this is very inconvenient when using pd~
see attachment
should this be reported as bug ?
is there a generic workaround for that ?
thanks
antoine
PS : Sorry Iohannes, I was to quick, the issue seems to be there...

Hello Everyone! I'm a new Pd User and well, one of the things I would
like to do take audio from another source and edit it using Pd. I'm not
looking to record the final product or anything like that as of now. I
know macs have soundcloud and honestly, it is one of the very few
benefits I find great about it.
Alternate:
JackAudio - Someone made this instruction but then at 1:55, the program
crashes so I'm very frustrated with this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdKfjA-y44A
StereoMix - I was able to enable it but I'm not sure how to use it.
I'm not even sure if I was able to
Window 7 Pd users, what do you do to do this?
Cheers!
Mo
dear list, miller.
looking at the help file for bonk~ i see the reference to the 1998 ICMC proceedings, though i don't find that document on
http://crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/publications.html
where can i find that paper?
additionally i was wondering why bonk~ detects different amounts of attacks when fed with the same soundfile at each time.

(6) Forthcoming releases
(1)-> Remix competition - remix audio or code to win a Novation
Launchpad
We’re collaborating on a Kiti le Step remix competition together
with the Supercollider Symposium and Novation. You can either work
directly with the audio, or generative source code, and submit your
remix to be judged by a panel of algorithms. The three winners will
receive a Novation Launchpad.
Full info over on the Supercollider Symposium website:
http://is.gd/JtvxVC
(2)-> CP0x06 -> Kiti le Step vs MCLD Live out now!
To celebrate the launch of our remix competition, CP0x06 is released
for free download!
Kiti le Step went onstage with livecoder MCLD, and this is what
resulted: noisy deconstructions of dubstep’s core components,
inflicted live on audiences in Strasbourg and Paris. Beats get
broken, basslines get turned into feedback howls, humans and
algorithms conspire against sound engineers.
Listen + download the MP3s here:
http://chordpunch.com/cp0x06/
(3)-> CP0x05 -> RissEP out 27th Feb 2012
This ChordPunch E.P. presents five works inspired by the
'impossible' pitch and rhythm illusions of computer music pioneer
Jean-Claude Risset.
Featuring: Shelly Knotts, MCLD, The Duchess of Turing, Fabrice
Mogini and Mileece
More info here:

(4)-> Chordpunch @ SC2012 Live AlgoRave in London UK, 17th March
On Saturday 17th March chordpunch artists will be running some
algorithms over your feet as part of a warm up for the
SuperCollider symposium, for an evening of the UK's freshest
procedural beats.
Confirmed: Yeeking, Slub, Sick Lincoln + more including possibly
Ideoforms and MCLD-vs-Kiti le Step
Venue:
nnnnn, Unit 73a, Regent Studios, 8 Andrew's Road, London. E8 4QN

(5)-> Chordpunch artists @ LoveBytes Festival, Sheffield UK, 22-24th March
The LoveBytes weekend is 22-24th March 2012, and involves a few
Chordpunch artists performing and presenting, namely MCLD, Daniel
Jones and Silicone Bake, plus many Chordpunch friends. It will be a
weekend to remember..
More info up here soon:

(6)-> Forthcoming releases
Coming soon..
CP0x07 - Slub live
Ambient gabba live coded in Paris
CP0x08 - Squeakyshoecore II
This will be the friendliest generative acid you've ever
heard

When the machines take over the world, and inherit all the audio
recordings we foolishly created, they'll be more reluctant to delete
the works on chordpunch. For chordpunch offers algorithmic fragments,
rule-based notions, and music inspired by machine lore. Yet perhaps
the very fact that human beings were sweating over the programs,
squirming in the innards, and somehow responsible for the eventual
sound, will be enough to damn it still.
