Hi,
My latest attempt at a MIDI piano accompaniment patch is attached. The
middle subpatch called "plays_major_then_minor_chord_rhythm" is giving me a
headache.
Does anyone know of a better way to change chords? Currently you have to
stop playing and click on the bang for whatever major or minor chord you
want. Slightly un-dynamic! I would perfer to have something that allows me
to play a note on a lower octave that would then change the chord being
played...without playing all the notes in the chord at exactly the same
time...ie..it keeps the rhythm steady. Any ideas?
Comments appreciated,
Marcus.

Hello,
I am working on a VST plugin that supports VST2.0. It
currently supports most of the functionality of "plugin~"
plus midi note on and off. It currently only works with
process replacing plugins. It seems to work with things
like the pro-52 plugin and waldorf d-pole just fine....
There is no help file as yet.
Notes:
In order to support plugins with spaces in the name it takes all
the parameters it is given and assumes they are parts of the
name with spaces in between. Thus
vst~ waldorf d-pole
loads the d-pole plugin because it looks for "waldorf d-pole". The
VST_PATH environment variable is use just like for "Plugin~".
The two right most inputs are for midi note and velocity and
work just like the "noteout" object.
There is not currently any support for:
manufacturer supplied graphical editor
programs
other midi messages
I am in the process of adding all of these. The editor does
actually work but the window it is in breaks PD so it is disabled
at present. There are no plans for a graphical interface for
plugins with no supplied editor - what do you think PD is for ;-)
I have discovered that not all VST plugins behave properly
- for example I found one called VST_Chopper that crashes
PD if you print its parameters.
What I need is some alpha testers to give this a go with your
favourite plugins to try to turn up any other problems that
I might not have come across yet.
If you are interested send me an email and I will send you
the current version of the external. Note this is windows
only (obviously I hope...)
cheers

Hello list,
I have just put online a little 808 style drum machine patch(es).
Nothing really fancy. Uses a table array to hold the sequence data.
You can have up to 10 sample instruments and up to 200 bars of 16 steps
each.
You can do simple copy n paste of patterns and the interface is toggle based
like the original 808.(although you can add extend the data if you like)
It uses a simple sample player patch that you can re-use pretty easiliy too
(creation argument sample table e.t.c.)
I did change the last 2 instruments to a simple monosynth in the style of
the tb303, which is pretty easy to do and quite fun. Who needs rebirth!!!!
:)
Anyway let me know what you think.

Hi all,
I think I remember that it was possible to send a list of messages to a
line~ object to specify more than one line~ segment to go through, like in
[1, 0.8 200, 0 300( ----> [line~] ---->...
Somehow I can't get this to work in 0.35-test11 anymore. The line~ stays
silent. Is my memory wrong and this wasn't intended to work anyways or
am I the only one to get this behaviour?
Regards,

in tring to compile the exciter code i came across a error that there were
to identifiers in sequence . is though imagine that it compile fine using
gcc . if there any way around this sort of declaration . also what exactly
does it mean to have a varible declared like that .
thanks again .
joge .
hello, beta-testers,
as i was tired of controling metro objects
spread all over my patches
and couldn't get a real "time line" for events,
i decided to make this new object : exciter
which is a bang-events sequencer.
the idea was, in fact, suggested [ partly ] by Nicolas Lhommet.
here we go again for bug-reports threads !!!
( especially, compiling on NT/2000/XP/PlayStation ).
Enjoy !!!

hi ,
i am looking at alot of the linux externals out there and remeber that i was
going to try to get some of these externals compiled with cygwin for such
*nix functions as "pthreads", and *nix style file directories . However, i
seem to be having problems figuring how exactly to compile these externals
with the cygwin1.dll , or rather to use it. I know that some how i need a
.lib file or equavlent to link with , what i dont know is how to create one
. So i was just posting to see if any one had this kind of knowledge
available to them and could help me out .
thanks .
joge .
