Hi!
Maybe this is more of an ubuntu package question than a Pd question, but...
I've got an old iMac running xubuntu at home, except that home has no
internet connection. When I tried installing the pd-extended package
it went and tried to download the depends, which of course it
couldn't, because it has no internet connection.
Is there a complete meta-package of Pd-extended and all the depends
that I could just plop onto this machine? Is it possible to make one
(I don't have access to another PPC-ubuntu machine with a net
connection to do this, it would have to be either an intel-ubuntu or
OS X machine doing the work).
Thanks!

isn't it right, that we should use [i] instead of [f] every time making
a counter which won't ever think of something in between 0 and 1 or 2
and 3 ..!!

and setup. When you find a link to a file, you first have to visit the page
where the file is listed, and for those of us in remote parts of the world
without the best internet connections, it sucks to have to wait for one more
page, when you could just as well start the download immediately.
An author can link to yourfile/download i.e. foo.mp3/download
so that it doesn't display the page of the file. probably more a pdweb topic.
what i really miss is an (central?) file-archive for patches and abstractions
where everybody is allowed to submit their work. so far we have many different
location: puredata.info, cvs, forum, pd-list, netpd, tons of websites, etc
also downloading the whole in tar.gz or .zip would be nice.
maybe we could agree on some basic rules? like having a directory that is in the
searchpathes.
hans pointed out that we could do something like that with netpd. it more or less
reducing netpd's functionality and running a user somewhere to send/get patches.
¡Hola compadres!
I imported the test run for the Spanish templates into the test wiki,
but it seems no one had a chance to look at it.
http://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2007-10/055452.html
I am going to import the French template into the test wiki now, let
me know and I'll import the spanish template into the test wiki again
so y'all can make sure it's good before it is finally imported into
the Spanish pdpedia.

hi there,
taking on this ultimately nice initiative of pdpedia i'd like to talk
for the russian part of pd users. so far i know only few of them but im
sure they are out there being hit by the brownian motion of pd
particles. i can translate the main/english tread of pdpedia in to
russian and keep it updated, also would keep eye on some russian
specifics (if there are any...? utf..phhh).

I've been working a bunch on GUIs recently, especially [entry], so I
decided to start a standard library: TkWidget. There are already a
number of half-complete Tk-based GUI objects in Pd (entry, popup,
ticker, button, image), this library aims to be a direct port of the
Tk widgets to Pd, with all of the Tk options exposed in Pd so that
they are very flexible and configurable.
I started a wiki page to start documenting ideas:
http://puredata.info/dev/TkWidget
Please add ideas, comments, etc and if you would like to help with
this, join in! The next thing to for GUIs after this is to extend
tclpd so that you can write totally custom GUI objects completely in
Tcl/Tk.
