Hi,
could anybody tell me how to use earplug~ with a different HRTF set of measurements? I understand that the distributed version works with the MIT KEMAR set. I'd like to use a different set, measured closer to the head of the listener.
Thank you!

Firstly, the flag is -resize, you've put the dash after read. Also there

Hello,
Date:
Sunday, 30 May, 2010 - 13:00
We'll focus on video and 3D :
Jack from the RYBN collective (http://rybn.org) will come over to
introduce us to GEM, one of the graphical libraries in PD, focussing on
video and 3D generative synthesis. The goal is to create a thorough
understanding of these techniques over a few sessions.
Sessions from 13h till 18h, at OKNO.
As usual, these are free events, come with your laptop, headphones and
motivations/projects.
Please send a short e-mail to ol(a)okno.be to confirm your participation,
so we can prepare properly.

So, we've tried to do a series of tests using tcpserver/client as well as netserver/client and found the following:
Using either off-the-shelf wifi hardware or an industrial strength wifi router (in our case Cisco), we get unexpected lag spikes on local WLAN with 16 clients at times even exceeding 2 seconds for some of the clients.
Network connection in these tests was unencrypted.
Packets tested were small to medium using both UDP and TCP (from a single number, up to a sentence, plus a couple numbers).
When using off-the-shelf router we even had clients drop connections to the router in a high-traffic context. By using an industry strength router these took much longer to occur (but have still nonetheless occurred).
So, with the router being less likely of a culprit I am wondering what is causing these spikes?
Without looking closely at Pd's network code one suggested culprit by a CS colleague might be how Pd reuses ports and a possibility of it starving the router. Is this possible?
The problem is apparent when sending sporadic TCP packets to all 16 machines as well as when using both UDP and TCP connections.
One last thought is whether there might be something on the router settings that would make this an issue in both cases.
Any thoughts on this would be most appreciated.

Or use [openpanel] get the file's location converted to a single
symbol which [soundfiler] can use. For example, the following file
loads fine with [openpanel] and [soundfiler]:
/Volumes/one/derek/audio/84 endgroove.wav
However sending the message "read -resize /Volumes/one/derek/audio/84
endgroove.wav array1" to [soundfiler] results in the error:
error: endgroove.wav: no such table
Some day I'll get around to the "working with tables and soundfiles"
section of the FLOSS Manual and this will be documented clearly.

type "vst~", then the number of inputs and outputs, then the name of the .dll
ex: vst~ 2 2 myreverb.dll
I strongly recommend you to read the help file for vst~ It contains all the object's methods and you'll need this in order to make it work...

-step 1: put the .dll file of your vst in the C/program files/pd/bin folders (if you're on windows)
-step 2: use the vst~ object as documented
Use Pd-extended.
Hope it helps.

Yes! We are doing our best to keep things as documented as possible with more documentation being posted as often as our time allows. We've also a growing library of YouTube videos with how-tos and other fun stuff as well as software section as part of our site.
I also wish we could offer a workshop for free but are bound by the ICMC workshop rules plus I am trying to use funds to help our student presenters offset the cost of presenting at the workshop.

Best wishes,
