hi list!
the pd-gui is very slow on ubuntu 14.04. and any version of pd that i
have tested (043..046). it looks like this is caused by pd
(tcltk) redrawing the complete window contents instead of only
the part that has changed. it is especially slow when the
window copntains (visual) arrays.
selecting everything in edit-mode, and moving it around
caused a similar behaviour under 12.04 and iir ealier. (not
very surprising though, that moving everything around causes
everything to be redrawn...), but now this happens all the time,
even when just a slider is moved. (or a single object
in edit-mode)
is there anything that i could do about this, other than
avoiding (avoiding to redraw) any sliders etc. (and keeping
the gui as minimal as possible)?
like installing an older (or newer) tcltk version, or
changing a script? does that happen on other distributions/os
too?
bis denn!
