It turns out that when you open multi-channel ALSA MIDI devices as OSS,
you only get the first hardware MIDI port.
Has anyone considered porting sys_linux.c to use the ASLA sequencer
interface?

Hi everyone,
When I create a midiin object in windows using pd .35-1, I get a warning message that midiin works under Linux only. However, it seems to work fine. Is the error message outdated, or is midiin unstable in windows?
Thanks,
Greg

If I put a space in a label for a slider, the rest of the properties get
all weird. I thought I reported this before and someone came up with a
relatively simple fix...
The Tcl/Tk interface is getting on my nerves in general. I can't do all
the UI things I'm used to. Tab doesn't work, for example. Is there still a
movement to separate PD from its UI?

I just recently applied to the Sonic Arts Research Centre at
Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. They've got an MSc in
Sonic Arts for next year. And to push Canadian schools ;) someone mentioned
McGill, but there's also Simon Fraser, Concordia, and the University of
Toronto who are all fairly active.

This is a wonderful article. May I use some of the "Tips and Tricks"
for the "Quote of the month" on pure-data.sf.net (of course with
backlinks)???
I have one issue with the patches, though. On Linux at least,
everything plays around 4 times as fast as it should, judging by the
ogg-files. The reason seems to be, that all samples are sampled at
11025 Hz. and then get played pack at whatever samplerate Pd is
running, mostly in the 44-48 kHz area.
I currently have no other simple solution than to resample all files
with sox. On Linux (and maybe OS-X) this shell magic get it to work
again (for a Pd samplerate of 44100):
for f in *.wav; do sox $f -r 44100 $f.wav; /bin/mv $f.wav $f ; done
ciao

I liked to know as I can bind the PD to another software, which the possiveis
forms if linking? software the one that prentendo to bind is the VAF/Coral
Hi Guenter,
I tried to compile some externals for Mac OS X and found that prepend
doesn't seem to work. I guess I found the problem (using outlet_list
instead of outlet_anything) and attached the patch for prepend.c.
It works on OS X and still works on linux in the changed version. I
wonder, why it worked on linux in the first place...
