Summary: $@ and $# expansion (argc, argv)
Initial Comment:
the attached patch extends the $-expansion mechanism:
$# expands to the number of arguments; usable both as
A_DOLLAR (just "$#") and A_DOLLSYM ("$#-bla")
$@ expands to the entire list of arguments (e.g. [$@
$@( will expand [1 2 3( to [1 2 3 1 2 3(); this is only
usable as A_DOLLAR; i.e. [symbol $@-a( will always
expand to "$@-a"
why:
well, its a way to deal with dynamic length lists that
is still missing in pd (though 1st steps have been made
with [list])
caveats:
what is still missing is an expansion for the selector
of messages and objects (the selector of an object
would be the object's instantation name); would $$ be a
good name for this? (since $0 is already taken)

i think that $@ is what is necessary to allow abstractions to do what they
want with args, and that $# is not so useful in comparison, and what would
be more useful than $# (in the sense of avoiding more detours) would be to
be able to do a $@-like thing that only starts at the Nth argument, e.g. if
I have an abstraction that takes $1 $2 $3 and then a variable number of
arguments, and those arguments starting with $4 are to be all written
directly in an objectbox. witness the strange stuff going on in [nqpoly]...

Yes! This is great!
As for the selector, $0 is not taken in message space, so I
think it makes sense there. Since message expansion
variables are already different than object arguments, I
think that won't be too confusing. Plus the $ variable
syntax comes from shell scripting, where $0 is basically the
selector of the message that is the command line arguments.

Summary: comport hangs on USB plug disconnect
Initial Comment:
Recently, an long-standing problem in [comport] got fixed, so that pulling the USB plug of a [comport] connected device does not make Pd hang anymore. It seems that change didn't make it into Pd-extended.
This was tested on Ubuntu 12.04 with Pd-0.43.4-extended-20121009

Summary: zexy: can't load classes by alias
Initial Comment:
When compiled as single-object externals (./configure --enable-library=no), it's not possible to instantiate objects, when using 'zexy/' prefix and when using the alias names of the classes.
Examples:
[zexy/mux~]
[zexy/mux]
[zexy/demux~]
[zexy/demux]
[zexy/l2i]
[zexy/l2s]
[zexy/l]
When instantiating one of the above objects, I get:
zexy/l: already loaded
zexy/l: already loaded
zexy/l: already loaded
zexy/l: already loaded
zexy/l: already loaded
zexy/l: already loaded
[...] (above message repeated 1000 times)
error: maximum object loading depth 1000 reached

Summary: Channel leakage in dac~
Initial Comment:
There seems to be channel leakage in the dac~ object on OS X. Current system: OS X 10.8.2, Pd-0.43.3. I have observed this with previous systems.
Steps to reproduce:
1.
[osc~ 440]
|
[dac~]
2. Start DSP
Expected behaviour:
Channel 1 has audio, channel 2 is silent
Actual behaviour:
Channel 1 has audio, channel 2 also has audio (low-level and distorted leakage)
Use headphones to confirm!

Summary: lpreson~ crashes if not properly initialized
Initial Comment:
[lpreson~] is very likely to crash.
e.g.: start Pd with lpreson~ loaded, create a new [lpreson~] object, turn-audio on: crash!
this is because the filter coefficents do not exist yet, but is accessed in the dsp routine.
the attached file fixes this, and also moves the t_atom->float conversion code into the list-callback (which will supposedly be called less often than the perform routine).
finally, the patch uses "t_sample" rather than "t_float" and/or "float", to allow this object to work in Pd-doubleprecision builds as well.

Summary: Device name for built-in mic truncated in Audio Settings
Initial Comment:
This bug is known to affect Pd-0.43.3 and Pd-0.43.4-extended-20121010 on Mac OS X 10.8.2
The issue is that the device name for "Buit-in Microphone" is truncated to "Built-in Microph" on the above system.
According to this thread: http://www.mail-archive.com/pd-list@iem.at/msg53562.html - this has shown NOT to be in an issue on earlier versions of Mac OS X.
Attached are screenshots of the correct and erroneous versions of the settings dialog.

Dear Hans and other Pd developers,
I noticed that pix_colorclassify is available in Gem Git but not in
the nightly autobuilds.
Could you update Gem?
Best,

Summary: settable dac~ and adc~
Initial Comment:
It would be very useful if the first inlet of dac~ and adc~ enabled the outlet channel assignments to be specified.
The syntax could be as follows...
Set adc~ to use input channel 3
|set 3(
|
[adc~ 1]
Set dac~ to use output channels 3 5 9.
|set 3 5 9(
|
[dac~ 1 2 3]
In the case where the number of channels specified in the |set ( message doesn't match the number of arguments passed at object creation, an error can be posted to the Pd console:
dac~: channel specifier mismatch
