so far i have successfully tested the following plugins
OSX-10.9(mavericks)/64bit:
- filmGMERLIN
- imageJPEG
- imageMAGICK
- imageSGI
- imageTIFF
- videoVLC
"successfull" means that the plugins are able to open the requested
media (obviously depending on the actual plugin), and the colors are
correct.
this means that it is *possible* to open most films (using filmGMERLIN)
and webcams (using videoVLC). juhuu!
however, i do not consider these workarounds to be *replacements* for
proper native …

** [bugs:#236] [pix_film] video delayed by one frame**

Hello,
i'm building a live visualisation for my band using 2 different videos (a calm and a more activating video). In my patch, i switch between the two videos. When i switch inside the video, everything seems to be fine, BUT when i switch …
[View More]between the vids, it comes clear, that there's something buggy in the GEM video chain: it uses the last videoframe before it shows the frame that it should use. E.g. i tell to show frame 1, then i tell to show frame 2 and now it shows frame 1. i tell to show frame 3, then it shows frame 2. i tell to show frame 100, then it shows frame 3.
In the patch attached, please load two videos (step 1 and 2), create a window and start (step 3) and then switch between the two videos (step 4 and 5 and 4 and 5) to see, what i mean.
OS: Win 8.1 64 bit
PD 0.43.4-extended with shipped GEM
AMD E-450 APU Laptop
Greetings,
Thomas

this is not necessarily a problem.
when i run ./autogen.sh on OSX (both 10.6 and 10.9), i also get this
error, but both autogen.sh and configure succeed.
do you have any other problems?

yes.
this was a bad idea in the first place.
Gem is considerably changing, and 0.93.3 has been released - ähm - 3
years ago.

i'm regularily building Gem on OSX (though these days i'm mainly using
10.9), there shouldn't be any problems.

this looks suspiciously like your src/Utils/GLUtil* have not been
updated (though i …

no need to run autogen.sh again.
though i really wonder how you managed to build before.
were you using the Xcode-project (which is not recommended, before you
start doing that)?

in any case: installing `gettext` (e.g. via brew) should fix the problem.

hi
I've build a working Gem.dll with Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Express on
Windows 7 with the current Gem from Git.
I have to make small changes, see the pull request on Iohaness' Github [1].
Gem seems to work, at least the first example...
I'll try to build plugins as soon as possible.
For now, I've put the Gem.dll on [2].
Feel free to try it !
