Hello,
I re-open this discussion.
I am using : GEM: ver: 0.93.git 7747518 GEM: compiled: Jun 23 2015 with Pd 0.46.5 on Ubuntu 15.04
And when i create a gemwin with border 0, [gemkeyname] and [gemkeyboard] don't work anymore : they don't output any value. I can see mouse events but nothing with keyboard. ++

did you do a "make install"? are you by chance mixing the abstractions with an older Gem installation?

using a recent git installation, gemkeyname is an abstraction comming from : /user/local/lib/pd/extra/gem and everything is working as expected. (ubuntu 14.04) cyrille

that is a different issue, and related to root-windows and focus.
please open another ticket, ifyou feel that this is really a bug in Gem (which i'm not so sure, but that's just my defensive standard reply)

Hmm, weird, when i create a gemwin with border, i can switch to the gemwin with the shortcut ALT+tab, but when i create it with border 0, it doesn't appear when i use the same shortcut. And, if i click on the gemwin, the last window (pd patch) stays selected. It is strange, because with the old version of Gem (without gemwin abstraction), everything was OK with no border. ++

Sorry for the noise, the problem is not related with the shortcut. I have the same behavior when i use Gem with gemwin, gemkeyname, gemkeyboard as objects, where everything works.
