Howdy Miller,
Let me know what areas I can help with.
I saw a comment about having problems compiling d_soundfile_caf.c on windows?
Also, there are a couple of things on macOS which should be updated, including checking if the latest Tcl/Tk Wish can be built natively for arm64. I last looked around February and it wouldn't build.

Hi Dan -
The CAF stuff is working fine (I had to fix some stupid OS-dependent include thing, no big deal).
It looks like there will be some more TCL/TK compatibility fun to be had. As I understand it TCL/TK 8.7 will drop Windows XP support so I'll probably end up distributing with a choice of 8.6 for XP compatibilty or 8.7 for newer Windows machines.
cheers Miller

hi, sorry to bug you Miller, but summer is ending and I was wondering about the next release if it's coming soon.

Well, I'm trying to get one last improvement in (multi-atom number/symbol boxes so you can type and/or see compound messages) - and then after that limit changes to bug fixes. My own school starts next week - that's probably when I'll have to freeze whatever is working and call for testing.
cheers M

Great. That's awesome, thanks!
- and then after that limit
changes to bug fixes. My own school starts next week - that's probably when I'll have to freeze whatever is working and call for testing.
Does this mean we have chances to merge some of the bugfixes PRs on github?
cheers

i'd like to bring the 'develop' branch to your attention. as usual i consider it "safe" https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/1354
i would also like to bring the "bugfix/file" branch to your attention https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/1361
this PR *does* add a new feature¹, namely shared file-handles using [file define]. practical experiments have shown, that when parsing files, this addition greatly simplifies the code.
dfmasdr IOhannes
¹ "new feature" relative to the current 'master' branch. In Pd-0.51 there was no [file] object at all, so the actual "big new feature" was already introduced back in july.
Well, since the first cut of the awesome list box is there and gates are closing, I'd like to bring to your attention to 2 simple and important fixes I need for an update of cyclone.
full support for dejavu sans mono => https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/899 / this almost made to 0.51, but it was just too late, see https://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2020-06/127522.html
The first 2 commits of https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/999 are also very important for cyclone/number~ and I've been hoping for such a fix for a few years now; I was finally able to try a fix myself.
Very cool the new two objects: [file] and [trace], and also the new list box, nice to see a good number of new items in this release. Moreover, a new [knob] GUI is also there and might be yet another good addition to the pack: https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/938
cheers
