Summary: sending a cut message to an "invisible" subpatch makes crash
Initial Comment:
If you have a subpatch, and send a "cut" message to it when it is not in "visible" state (i.e. it is not open), pd crashes.
This may happen when using scripting, if for example you send a "find foo" message followed by a "cut" message. If the object does not exist (and the subpatch hasn't been made explicitly visible), the cut message will reach the canvas when it is invisible.
See the attached example.
Tested on 0.40.2 on Windows XP.

Message:
fixed this slightly differently. (Hannes -- the vis/invis editor
allocation and deallocation
code is so complicated I'm afraid to try to enable "edits" on invis
windows. Instead I
want to write a "delete-in-rectangle" message optimized for scripting.

miller: any chance to get selection/copy/paste/... to work with closed

I've got a project that I've put on the shelf and haven't finished. I
wanted to figure out how to create stable acoustic feedback, and I can
show that a single long-length (on the order of RT60 room
reverberation time) FIR filter can be used to equalize the acoustic
feedback path. I never succeeded in all my experiments except to
create really loud noises that I thought were going to destroy my
loudspeakers, burn down my house, etc... Perhaps other people have
been more successful with acoustic feedback.
The primary problem I found was that simple inverse and regularized
least-squares methods would produce "ringing" and non-compact
solutions that would result in instability when applied. I don't have
time to share all the math tonight, but I will help with the
"discussion" part of all this :)

Hi, here is the portuguese (Portugal) translation. As I'm not a programmer, I advise this to be reviewed by someone else.
Also, I couldn't find the place in Pd where some strings occur - if you can tell me how to find them, or send me a screenshot of them (without understanding the context isn't that easy to do an accurate translation). The following strings were not translated:
- Appearance on parent patch
- Range and size
- Match whole word only
-%s Font
- Messages
- Media
- Bring All to Front
- Sampling
- Routing
- ERROR: 'pd' never showed up, 'pd-gui' quitting!

There is a problem with this po, you can check it by going to
pure-data/branches/pd-gui-rewrite/0.43/po and running 'make'. Basically,
there aren't enough %s pattersn in the translation, here's the error
message:
pt_pt.po:632: a format specification for argument 3 doesn't exist in
'msgstr'
msgfmt: found 2 fatal errors

probably affects all versions of pd ever, except desiredata starting with
commit#12248 today. basically it's a bug introduced in pd in order to cover
up a bigger bug that exists in all branches except desiredata, and then in
desiredata i forgot to remove the covering bug. this covering bug is called
"proc enquote" in all versions of pd that i know about.
