Summary: Cannot control window size on Mac
Initial Comment:
Once the windows grow larger than the screen, for example after loading a pd file edited on a pc, onto a Mac it is not possible to resize the pages - the scroll bars are off the screen and there's no way of reaching them. This makes it impossible to work with.

Message:
It turns out its not really a design problem with Mac OS X, but rather
layers of hacks upon kludges. It turns out that the first code in C gets
this bit correct, but the Tcl code in pdtk_canvas_new gets it wrong for Mac
OS X. Really, this should all be handled in a single place in the GUI. I
am guessing that Tcl/Tk might even handle most of it for you if things are
coded correctly.
Here's the commit in Pd-extended:

Message:
personally i think this is a design problem of osx.
however this does not help you...
so how do other applications deal with this? (most likely clamping the
window size)
(however i notice it is a not so uncommon problem on OSX)

Summary: number2 labels ending with '%' cause PD crash
Initial Comment:
In a number2 atom, when a label ending with '%' (or '%_', as well) is used, right-clicking on the number2 box and selecting "Properties" will cause PD to crash.
I have not found any other characters that cause this, and it does not happen with regular number atoms.

Message:
So it turns out that BSD's sprintf() isn't as fault-tolerant as GNU's. It
was crashing on unescaped %, I guess it was trying to replace them and
failing miserably. This patch fixes it by only running the first % pattern
thru the sprintf() then just copying the rest before sending it to
sys_gui();

I did some checks and the properties don`t show up (no crash here, too) if
you:
- take any iemgui-object
- set the label to anything%
- set the x offset to 0 (which is the default for vslider and number2)
If you change it to anything not zero, it works (again).
Tested on yesterday`s svn of pd-extended on Linux.

Pd 0.41 doesn't crash, but produces this instead of opening the Properties
dialog:
wrong # args: should be "pdtk_iemgui_dialog id mainheader dim_header wdt
min_wdt wdt_label hgt min_hgt hgt_label rng_header min_rng min_rng_label
max_rng max_rng_label rng_sched lin0_log1 lilo0_label lilo1_label loadbang
steady num_label num snd rcv gui_name gn_dx gn_dy gn_f gn_fs bcol fcol

vslider acts the same but interestingly hslider is not affected!

Summary: renaming 'current' dir causes error on File->Open attem
Initial Comment:
On Pd 0.40.2 vanilla, 0.41.4-vanilla, and 0.40.3-extended, renaming the directory that Pd thinks is the 'current' directory causes subsequent attempts to call up the Open dialog to fail with the following error:
bad directory "/Users/damian/2.current/rj/Track.rj"
bad directory "/Users/damian/2.current/rj/Track.rj"
while executing
"tk_getOpenFile -defaultextension .pd -filetypes { {{pd files} {.pd}} {{max files} {.pat}}} -initialdir $pd_opendir"
(procedure "menu_open" line 3)
invoked from within
"menu_open"
(procedure "pdtk_canvas_ctrlkey" line 33)
invoked from within
"pdtk_canvas_ctrlkey .printout.text o 0"
(command bound to event)
to reproduce the error:
1. open ~/thing/wossname.pd
2. close the patch.
3. mv ~/thing ~/otherthing
4. File->Open or Ctrl-O/Splodge-O

I can reproduce it on Mac OS X/Intel 10.4.11 using Pd-extended
0.40.3-extended-20080708. But there is one specific thing I had to do:
It happens when opening with the File->Open or Cmd-O, but not if I
double-click to launch the patch.

This works fine for me on Ubuntu/Hardy, someone the open panel magically
goes to the newly named folder. I am guessing that ext3 now has some magic
to make this happen. HFS+ does this kind of thing, AFAIK.
What platform did this happen for you?

Summary: Mac OS X: Path dialog won't save entries that are inside app
Initial Comment:
When I try to enter a new path using the new dialog on osx the post window displays this:
error: s/Pd-extended.app/Contents/Resources/extra/pddp: no such object
On hitting apply and ok, then restarting Pd, then opening the Path dialog again, it reveals that the path hasn't saved.
The only way i can do this is to enter the path via Startup dialog and entering a -path path/to/folder
this is on 0.40.3 extended rc3 OS X 10.4.11

Message:
something like 'pddp' is a library, so you can add it to the Startup if you
want it to load. I personally think its not a bad thing that you cannot
add paths that are inside the Pd.app. You can use [declare] or [import]
and save that setting in the patch where it is needed.
If someone else wants to change this, I suppose that would be ok.

This only seems to affect paths that are inside of the the
Pd-extended.app. If you want to add a library, you are best off using
[declare] or [import] in the patch or for adding paths, using [declare].

I don't think there is time to fix this before the release, I think more
complicated things have to be fixed before bringing the Lenny build machine
fully up-to-date. Once the release is out, I'll run this to make sure all
of the old libs are removed, then it'll be more "pure" Lenny:
aptitude purge pd-extended
deborphan

absattr is one of Thomas Grill's flext-based externals. No one has
