Try the latest builds. The Mac/Intel builds are back. The Mac OS X
builds are now building against JackOSX 0.77.

Which version of PD-extended should i try now?
I have been successfully using Jack 0.76 with Pd-0.40.3-extended-20080222
- it wasn't crashing...
There haven't been any Intel builds since them afaik.

Summary: Higher CPU load in 0.39 than older versions
Initial Comment:
Updating to 0.39 I noticed that most patches use more
CPU than in previous versions. Configuration: OS:
Windows 2000, ASIO driver activated.
CPU Load without any patch loaded:
- 0.38.3: 2%
- 0.39: 4%
CPU Load with a patch:
- 0.38.3: 3%
- 0.39: 40% (!)
CPU Load with comport object receiving data from serial
port:
- 0.38.3: 3%
- 0.39: 25%
It seems to depend on audio channels used: more
channels higher CPU load. It is hardware independent
(several sound interfaces tested with different computers).

An example patch is always very helpful, especially if it triggers the
problem every time that it is run. Ideally the example patch would have
only enough objects to cause the problem, but nothing else.

if so, could you narrow down the problem a bit?

Summary: changing properties doesn't set "modified" status
Initial Comment:
When you change the properties of an object, it does
not set the "dirty" or "modified" flag on the patch.
Therefore, Pd does not prompt to save if that patch is
closed and those changes are lost.
To see this bug in action, make a new patch, and place
a GUI bang object on the canvas (i.e. [bng]), then save
the file. Now, open the properties dialog of that bang
and change the color of it and it OK. When you close
the patch, it does not prompt you to save your changes.

Attached is a patch that fixes this for all canvas-related properties
panels (i.e. NOT the audio/midi/path/startup pref panels). This should
work for adding and deleting cords, and properties panels for: canvas,
arrays, iemguis, and atom boxes.
The only downside is that with the properties panels, there is no checking
whether there has actually be any change. I just sets the dirty flag if
the user clicks on OK or Apply.
File Added: cords_and_properties_set_dirty-0.41.4.patch

Not only changing properties of an object.
Also deleting an existing connection does not set the modified flag!
To see the bug in action:
Make a new patch, create any two objects and connect them in any way (any
inlet of one to any outlet of the other), then save the file.
Now, click on the wire connection and delete it, without moving the
objects.
When you close the patch, it does not prompt you to save your changes.
This is true both for control and signal connections.
At least Windows XP, version 0.40-2
Should I post this as a separate bug?

Initial Comment:
hey,
when I have a subpatch that contains no element in it, but is a GOP, then I don't see the red GOP border.
that does not seem to be a problem. BUT...
when I use this empty subpatch and create an object in it via message command, then that red border suddenly is visible in the parent patch.
see attached file.

Summary: readsf~
Initial Comment:
pd crashes the whole system and can't even be killed by
the watchdog (i'm using -rt) when more than 20 readsf~s
(i'm not sure if it is always exactly 20) are created
one by one in an empty patch. the whole computer
becomes unresponsive to anything and the hard drive
thrashes constantly. computer can only be restarted
with power button. this is even before any messages
have been sent to the readsf~s or dsp has been turned on.
i'm using 0.38 test 10 on planetCCRMA fedora core 1
with jack.

I was not able to reproduce this on Mac OS X 10.4.11/Intel using
Pd-0.40.3-extended-20080427. Is this still a problem anywhere?
I attached my test patch.

Summary: pd 0.39-1 GOP bounding box doesn't appear if no objects
Initial Comment:
This is minor, but confused me and made me think
something was broken:
Create a new patch, don't create any objects.
Make the patch graph-on-parent.
The red GOP bounding box doesn't appear until the first
object is created (pressing Ctrl-1 without typing an
object name is enough).
Alternatively,
Create a new patch, create some objects, delete them all.
Make the patch graph-on-parent.
The red GOP bounding box doesn't appear until a new
object is created (pressing Ctrl-1 without typing an
object name is enough).
Once GOP is activated for the first time, the bounding
box appears correctly when there are no objects, even
when GOP is turned off and on again.

Summary: menubar - window filename update
Initial Comment:
hi,
I found a minor bug. when you open a patch (or create new patch) and then "save as" (or "save" with a new patch) then that name is not updated in the menubar-window menu.
the patch is still listed under the old name or "untitled".
maybe that's only on mac 10.5. I tried pd-extended 0.40.3(080222) and the current pd 0.41-2 from millers site.

sorry, if I was not clear. to reproduce create a new patch and look in the
menubar under "Windows". It will be listed as Untitled-1 or something. then
save it as somename.pd and look again under "Windows". it is still listed
as untitled. this does not get updated until you open a new patch.

I cannot reproduce his bug on Pd-0.40.3-extended-20080427 or Pd-0.41-4 on
Mac OS X 10.4.11. If you saveas an abstraction that is in use, it will not
change the title , and it will indeed remain as that abstraction, and just
save a copy, IIRC.
