I would really love to use the flext library but I'm creating an external for a portfolio in my course and my lecturer reckons I could go without using an SDK like flext :S He's just being difficult! Hi there, I'm trying to build a test external just to see how it's done, I have made my DLL in VC++ 6.0 but it doesn't create a .lib file which I need to build the object. I have tried using implib.exe but all I get is some crap like: 'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks very much in advance! Yet another newbie

Hi folks, I'm trying to compile a simple external object (my first one) in VC6. In the project folder I have the m_pd.h library and the pd.lib file, which are included in the actual project. Every time I try to compile the DLL I get this message: Linking... bsccounter.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _s_float Debug/bsccounter.dll : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals Error executing link.exe. bsccounter.dll - 2 error(s), 0 warning(s) Any ideas would be mucho appreciato as I have to make a PD external for a uni project! bug with "list" symbol?

Hi, I have a class called "list", for jMax compatibility, and when I instantiate it, GridFlow needs to fetch the class name, as usual, but in this particular case it _fails_. "drip" ing a symbol char by char

Hey all, Is there an external (or abstraction) that takes a symbol and passes out each char one by one in order? eg: hello -> h - e - l - l - o I also need to do the opposite, take h - e - l - l - o and create the symbol "hello" out of it. The latter is more important! Just like "drip" but for symbols not lists.. Why? I wanted to use gemkeyname to allow the user to interactivly type something on screen. Thanks Ben

anoyances with pd on OSX (tcl/tk 8.5 (jamie's))

Hey all, I've been using jamie's tcl/tk 8.5 for a while now, Through all the pd 0-37 (did not try 36) I've been getting a little sporadic behavior. First off I get messages like: tkwin == NULL, 515 spinning, no responce. ATSUBreakLine(): Error -50 in the console all the time, when It shoes up the keyboard shortcuts stop working and I have to do to the pull down menu and then magically the shortcuts work again. I'm posting here because I'm not sure if its on the tcl/tk side or the PD side. Thanks Ben

nSLAM release: pdjimmies v0.1 / multi-channel audio streaming A library of abstractions and externs, which provide shortcuts and functionality for DSP programming in Pure Data, and example applications for multi-channel audio streaming is available for downloading at: http://toto.sat.qc.ca/eng/nslam.html Pour les francophonos: http://toto.sat.qc.ca/fra/nslam.html The “pdjimmies” library, developed for Pure Data by Zack Settel (of the SAT, Montreal) to ease the pain of DSP programming, immitates the original “jimmies” library, which was developed by Zack for the ISPW (Ircam Signal Processing Workstation) system, and later ported to MAX/MSP by Richard Dudas. The "pdjimmies" library conatins a subset of “original jimmies" immitations (pbank, reverb, harms, etc.), as well as new objects for dealing with multi-channel audio. The missing "original jimmies" immitations will be added in a subsequent release of “pdjimmies”. “pdjimmies” is provided with the “nSLAM” audio development release, developed at the Societé des Arts Technologiques (la SAT, Montreal). nSLAM is an open-source audio bundle for multi-channel audio application development, developed by the SAT Audio Group. At its core is a library of low-level DSP objects called “pdjimmies “; included in the release is documentation, help files, and example applications for multi-channel audio streaming (using oggvorbis/pdogg~, developed by Olaf Matthes). note: binaries are included for mac osX and Linux -Z Settel
