Initial Comment: As of this date, using newer automake, such as automake from Git (which is common ammong developers), breaks Gem build. By running autogen.sh in the Gem directory, after a while one faces the error:
src/Output/Makefile.am:11: error: `pkglibdir' is not a legitimate directory for `DATA' autoreconf: automake failed with exit status: 1
The attached patch fixes this. It just removes the unused pkglib_DATA = line
