Hello,
I would like to know if someone had already worked with a GigE camera with Pd and Gem. I am interested to buy one and wanted to know a model working perfectly with Gem. Thanx. ++

Hello IOhannes,
I see this on gem-dev list :

Message: oh, and i have now added yet another backend called "videoAVT" which is supposed to work with Prosilica's "AVT GiGE SDK". it compiles nicely, but i have not tried whether it works at all.
please test! if it doesn't work, either invest time to make it work, or send me a GiGE cam.
Do you have succeed to make work a Prosilica GigE camera with Gem ?
I see this on puredata.info about Gem 0.93 : support for industrial grade GigE cameras using 3rd party libraries such as PYLON, Halcon or AVT's PvAPI
So i suppose the answer should be : Yes. Is there someone who has tested this ? Thanx. ++
Jack
i have a gigE AVT. i could try myself or hook it up to a machine here and give you remote access (ssh/vnc) if that helps. m.

Hello Max,
Thank you, but i just need to know if your GigE camera works perfectly with Gem ? ++
Jack
hello,
i don't remember exactly, i should have tested 2 gige plungins. but it was only quick test, to see if it work. i never did any project with a gige cam. and yes, they mostly worked, but you also need a good ethernet card. i think AVT recomend only 1 intel gigabit etherent card.
on my experience, framerate is not always constant.
cheers Cyrille

Thanx for this info. Then, what is the best interface (to get the best and constant framerate) with an industrial camera like Prosilica ? Because i need a camera at 120 fps with, at least, 640x480 px. Is there any alternative solution ? ++
Jack
cheers Cyrille
