Since the rest of gem is "American" (color). I think it should certainly be consistant! (or perhaps aliases for both spellings?!!?) colorRGB and colourRGB pix_grey and pix_gray??

personally i favour brit spelling but i do agree we should become more consistent. so i'd vote for american spellings as primary names (and compatibility aliases)

of course i was writing before thinking: changing the primary name is not an easy task with CVS (what do you all think about subversion ? are there any clients for it on macOS ?)

We're looking at subversion for the AID project.
I have been told there is a nifty finder (macos) plugin for subversion that allows you to do checkouts and commits etc.. just by right-clicking on the files. It adds a context menu for subversion operations. Sounds very nice. :)
