if the buffersize is not multiple of the blocksize, you can have things like in the attached image. (it should be a perfect spiral).

Message: i'm not sure whether this is really a bug: the buffersize you are specifying in your patch (96000) is not a multiple of the blocksize (4096); try a multiple (e.g. 98304) and see whether this helps.
please also provide a screenshot of what you expect and what you get.
