all of this look to be related to the fact that i never really finished the gemlist object.
in the source file, one can read this :
void gemlist :: postrender(GemState *) { // m_validState=false;
// this is to early to reset the m_validState // when should we call this??? // TODO : fix this. }
if m_validState could be set to false at the end of the render of the last gemhead, then all problem would disappear. but postrender is trigged only at the end of the render of this gemhead if i am correct. Is there a way for this object to know when last gemhead render is finish?

Yes, same crash here on a fresh build. Ubuntu 11.10, pd 0.42test2, Gem ver: 0.93.git 4f5db6d. I have often crash with [gemlist] in certain circumstance.
which circumstance? crash should be reported to be fixed.
I have isolated the problem. You can open the patch attached to this mail. All instructions are inside. Hope it will help.
ok, thanks for the example. i remove the pmpd part that have nothing to do with the crash and submit a bug report. i also submit yesterdays patch by antoine.

Here a patch that solve this crash (if i am right).
your patch did only remove anything from gemlist right inlet.
