i was referring to the FreeFrame host-side API, which is very similar to the famous ioctl() on unices, which i think is ugly (but nevertheless works)
about 90 seconds to write the necessary setup calls from scratch for most objects and the rest of the time is spent doing the pixel mangling stuff. It handles both computer and video native color spaces too, which seems like a rarity.
