...hmm, I probably never sent an example, did I? :-( Ok, so there's one attached now, and just moving any of the parameters to [pqtorusknots] causes a crash...
well, on my machine it was not "any", just the "facets" and "steps".
however, i have found the typo you expected; it prevented all even indices from being initialized, which made the object look weird (if you were lucky) or crash (when index>num_vertices)
it is now fixed in the CVS
