I think this is a great idea. Chris Clepper, Cyrille Henry and vade have all talked about it and posted examples. There might be some Max/ MSP people willing to contribute as well.
It seems that coming up with a nice, usable interface to all these shaders would be very useful as well.

I'm starting on the absolute basics - and concentrating on the more self contained shaders, to avoid having require complex frameworks for them to run in, but there are two shaders so far and some more planned here:
