Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: puredata Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Jonathan Wilkes (jancsika1) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: give more error info for subsidiary inlets
Initial Comment: If you send the message "foo" to the left inlet of an object like [clip] that doesn't have a method for that selector, you get the error: error: clip: expected 'float' but got 'foo'
But if you send the same message to any of the other inlets of [clip], you get: error: inlet: expected 'float' but got 'foo'
Is there any way to specify the object class for that inlet? Because error: clip: inlet: expected 'float' but got 'foo' would be a lot more helpful, especially in those cases where Pd isn't able to track down and highlight the specific object.
