heya,
...after seeing this mentioned, I decided to try and compile the cvs plugin~(can't believe it never crossed my radar before)...unfortunately I'm stuck in the configure stage: don't really know much about these wacky build systems, so I'm open to guidance :-) Here's my output thus far:
tiggity:~/puredataDev/externals/plugin~ tigital$ ./configure --with-pddir=$HOME/puredataDev/Pd loading cache ./config.cache checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes checking for working aclocal... found checking for working autoconf... found checking for working automake... found checking for working autoheader... found checking for working makeinfo... found checking host system type... configure: error: can not guess host type; you must specify one tiggity:~/puredataDev/externals/plugin~ tigital$
...where to go next? Btw, ladspa and ladspa-cmt are available via fink...

Ok, here is a plugin~ that should build on linux and OS X(if you got fink). It's only the build system that has been changed.
http://dsv.su.se/~zach-tro/pdstuff/plugin~.tar.bz2
The downside is that I presently haven't got time to even look at the windows part of building. If the old one used autoconf it should not work, if not, it might still be intact...
Also I'm quite sure it is not built the best way for OS X(get runtime warnings), but it definitely works - I have used it in a performance on OS X without problems.
