hi,
just realized that pidip-0.8.5's pdp_live~ is also a very capable file player (even for my beloved mpeg4 files) - just want this great feature to be known by everyone, since i did not read it out of yves mails.
if the image seems to be _very_ distorted try to give pdp_xv the correct |size <w> <h>(

wow, i didn't even know that since i only tried it with streamed video, thanks for pointing this out, martin )))
i must also say it's not very stable, it needs some serious debugging that i'll be doing quite soon, i only published it as an alpha release.
btw, haven't you noticed that the sound is played at a weird speed ( faster that regular but not resampled ?? ), i still wonder where this might come from.... mm .... work ahead.
cheers,
sevy/yves

i have not noticed since i tried it with a video that had no sound stream. but i'll have a look if the behaviour is the same as when streaming

hi yves,

downloaded new cvs snapshot of ffmpeg today but it did not compile. so i linked the one from 2003-02-07 (being the last i've got) and for the first time the image was decoded properly (that was not the case with 0.4.6 release version). yet pd crashed after trying to play the same movie again. since then it instantly crashes when opening the same movie.
but the one time it worked it decoded and played the video file (being 640x480 - that is BIG) with processor load of about 10-12% (that is NOT big)). impressive in my view

this is fixed, you should download pidip again ( v0.8.5 )

yep, it's a problem, i recommended cvs snapshot but some are working better than other ones ( there's one everyday )

i know, that's a bug in pdp_live~. i'm having a hard time trying to fix that in fact.... i cannot guarantee any fixed release soon.
