Hey all,
I tried to use the PD extended installer on my 10.3.9 machine. It seems all the ones listed on the autobuild list are 10.4 now, is 10.3.9 no longer supported?
So I can see that gem gets loaded fine, in the console window. But it seems no gem objects work.. "gemwin" for example.
Is this a 10.3.9 issue?
I don't see any errors in the console other than the usual JAR/jack stuff.
I'm doing a demo next week and am not sure what version to suggest... (well the old 0.38 extended build has issues...)
Thanks. ,b,
The 10.3 builds are not completing because its stopping on an issue with Gem that is still unresolved.
With the 2006-11-22 nightly build, Gem works on my 10.4 machine.
Did you try the test release? You have to manually install Tcl/Tk on 10.3 with that specific release.

ahÀm, this can easily be proven be looking at the latest build-logs: http://autobuild.puredata.info/auto-build/2006-11-23/logs/2006-11-23_03.15.0...
:-)
(to be honest, it would fail at Gem later if it wouldn't stop before)

Strange, I wonder how that built without errors on gcc 4 platforms. Also, even stranger, it doesn't have any problems when I run the build manually on 10.3. Strange. Anyway, should be fixed now.

So the GEM build date and the developer names are shown in the console but you cannot make the object?

Hi Chris,
Yes exactly.
I just tried 2006-11-23 and now PD is really broken, the PD window does not render at all and I just get the wish menu items "source..." for example.
I am trying to use the 10.4 version on my 10.3 machine since I still see not 10.3 version being built.
Ah, looks like unresolved symbols in Jack.framework according to the autobuild log...? (main not extended?)
I'm seeing an undefined symbol _canvas_open at the bottom of the 10.3 build log.
Hans, I'll try your test build now...

Strange, Pd-0.39.2-extended-2006-11-23 works quite well on my 10.4/ powerpc machine. I've been playing with some of the chdh patches and no problems whatsoever. So it seems to be a 10.3 issue.
Also the _canvas_open thing is now fixed, but unfortunately Gem still won't build on 10.3, according to IOhannes.
