Dev Meeting this Friday
host IRC.FreeNode.Net port 6667 channel #dataflow time: |- 19.00 UTC+2 (Graz/etc) |- 17.00 UTC |- 13.00 UTC-4 (Montréal/NewYork/etc) `- 9.00 UTC-8 (SanDiego)
reminder: summer time is in effect in Montréal and Graz. there is no such time shift for SanDiego, and we don't want Miller to have to get up too early, so this is why it's late for the europeans. Sorry. Drink your Murauer in front of the computer. (It rhymes so it must be a good idea)
I'll _try_ to come up with the topic-list I have promised, ... well, before the actual meeting, anyway.

Unless San Diego has recently broke off from the rest of the state of California, there is definitely Daylight's Saving Time there (aka summer time aka UTC-7).
http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/pacific-time/
For a little dose of daylight's savings madness check this: the Hopi nation does NOT observe daylight's savings, its completely within the Navajo nation, which does observe daylight's savings, and its completely within the state of Arizona, which does NOT observe daylight's savings, and its completely within the Mountain time zone, which does observe daylight's savings.

Ok, so errata for dev meeting 4,
`- 9.00 UTC-8 (SanDiego)
This is 10.00 UTC-7,
And the dev meeting 5 will be one hour earlier for everybody, in order to not make it too late for europeans.

YES
we (you ? me ? volunteers ?) should post a newsticker at puredata.info with the exact times.
How do I do that? (Or may you do it?)
Anyhow, I think that reading pd-dev should be a requirement for participating in the IRC meeting... (that's really a minimum to be aware of what's going on in the pd developers world, and apart from that I don't really have any other requirements)

so is it at 17:00 UTC or at 16:00 UTC ????
fine
btw, who decides when there are meetings ? i was just a bit amazed when you announced "in 2 days we meet" and i knew absolutely nothing of it.
i have done it now (but you can check whether it is ok)
the procedure is simple: log into puredata.info; go into a folder where you have write permissions (your homefolder; probably /community/IRC/announce/ (?)) "add a new item" called "news item" fill in what you think is appropriate. publish!
apart from that, i think that announcing at the pd-dev is necessary too.

PS: how does "murauer" rhyme with "computer" ?

I decide, when Miller doesn't already tell us a date. I think we had said it would be on April 22, but then I told myself we weren't ready, and so I thought April 29, and actually we're not ready either because I announced it much later than I wanted to and I still haven't edited the topics list less than 24 hours before the meeting (damn).
So now it's for real,
4th meeting ***************** date May 06, 2005 *****************
host IRC.FreeNode.Net port 6667 channel #dataflow time: |- 18.00 UTC+2 (Graz/etc) |- 16.00 UTC |- 12.00 UTC-4 (Montréal/NewYork/etc) `- 9.00 UTC-7 (SanDiego)
and the topics list is coming soon(ish).
PS: how does "murauer" rhyme with "computer" ?
On paper.
Or, you need a special accent. Like a really drunk accent. Drink enough of them Murauers and they'll rhyme eventually ;-)

Oops. In keeping with my excellent time management skills I discovered I have a 9AM-11AM meeting That day... can't do this after all, unless we do it 2 hrs. earlier (in which case I could do 7-8:30 AM over here).
The next Friday I'm out of town and also the one after that...
cheers Miller

No problem, we could organize a physical developer submeeting in the 3rd district then.... maybe others want to join in?
all the best, Thomas

it might be a good idea to add topics here: http://puredata.org/Members/timblech/TopicsForTheDeveloperMeetingsOnIrc/
