1- there was a touch of humour in that sentence.. 2- tcl-tk is a bit too procedurial for my taste (without any extensions I mean). just look at Qt or ruby-qt or python-qt and I'm sure you'll know what I mean. 3- I always found tk GUIs really ugly (but maybe that's just me)

There is core OO support in 8.6, which is currently at Beta 2.
3- I always found tk GUIs really ugly (but maybe that's just me)
But are we talking 8.4, or >= 8.5? As far as look and feel they
might as well be two entirely different toolkits.
