hey all,
I just put this feature-request onto sourceforge. It is really becoming quite an anoyance since I've been doing so much dynamic patching...
For those of us doing dyanmic patching (where a patch constructs itself) It would be really handy to delete the contents of a subpatch without it opening!
Currently if you want to delete the contents of a subpatch called "array" you need to send this message:
; pd-array vis 1, selectall, cut
And the "array" subpatch must open for the delete operation to work. If you omit the "vis 1" message the contents of the subpatch are not deleted and PD prints a message about the patcher not being found like: "invalid command name .x442b65.m.edit"
Thanks B.

You know
[; pd-array clear (
or not? It will not work for selective cutting, though.
Ciao

Doh!
Thanks Frank, that did the trick.
is there official documentation for all the internal pd messages? I'd be happy to help in making contributing...

There is some good docs on this topic, tho not quite entirely complete. They are in CVS and included in my MacOS X and Windows distros.
in CVS: doc/additional/pd-msg
