Message: Looks worth including, but with GOP bugs, I'm currently waiting to see what Miller is going to do with GOP restructuring before tackling this stuff. I still don't really have a grasp of the GOP code, so I don't know what the repercussions of GOP-related patches are. From my experience, one little simple fix causes some weird behavior elsewhere.

Message: the problem only applies to Pd-extended (hence i re-assign it to hans), as with pd-vanilla, all msg- and obj-boxes are transparent (non-filled), thus there is no real problem with the layer-depth of cords vs objects.
furthermore, i actually fail to see the problem anyhow: why do you think it is a bug if the cord is drawn on top of the object? isn't this what you usually get anyhow?
