Does this affect binary compatibility with other peoples' libraries? Sounds like it should be changing the size of data structures, no?

I haven't noticed any problems with any externals I used. I have used [plugin~], [d_mp3~], Gem lib and maybe others.
Which libraries would be critical? I'll test them.
