Thanks Miller,
Although I couldn't get it to compile (prolly my lack of skill) I was able to test the pre-built binary and sure enough, full duplex audio w/emi 2|6 and midi (though somewhat poor performance) with my midisport 2x2. Next adventure - multiple outs.
Btw, the hidden menubar thing is improved (though somehow it still ends up half burried). Thank's again.

Really? The new coreaudio (test6 included) seems to break up less for me, especially with the correct -realtime settings. It's feeling really solid on my 3-year-old iMac, in fact.

By half-buried, you mean by two pixels, right? The titlebars are never overlapped by the menubar, right? The correct offset from the top of the screen is 22 pixels, not 20, as Miller uses. Ah, Mac trivia.

Howdy,

Could be my particular midi setup (my controller sends a lot of active-sensing info).

I was using the new coreaudio w/the cvs version of Pd previously. I haven't even ventured into setting the -realtime flag... perhaps I should. Things are much better yes.

Forgive my hyperbole.

Not a problem. I just wanted to be sure it looked the same way I was seeing it, and not still a bug. I mentioned it in detail because it was annoying to me, too. (These Mac users and their demands for aesthetics...) :P

yes. same poor performance for me on a pismo powerbook. i'm getting close to finding the issue, which i think affects all powerbooks running pd. a friend inadvertently discovered that his adb mouse was causing the dropouts on his tower, and removing the mouse solved the problem. powerbooks happen to use adb for the keyboard and trackpad. if pd is doing input polling in the same thread as audio then it might be getting hung up waiting for the very slow adb bus. i need to locate a mac with both adb and usb (a blue and white g3 for example) to test this further.
also, i need to hear from other powerbook users running pd to help narrow down the problem. otherwise it might just be a problem for pismo users in the chicago area. ;)
