You should definitely keep this discussion on the list, I cc'ed it.
If you check out Pd from the CVS with out a specific release tag, you'll just get Miller's version. There are two branches of development off of that, devel_0_37 and impd. You'd check those out by using -r:
cvs checkout -r devel_0_37 pd
or
cvs checkout -r impd pd

i'm running pd 0.37 test 6 branch from the cvs (i don't even see impd there unless i'm missing something) on gentoo linux. i know it's potentially more stable to get a standard package from miller and i'll do that if there's no easy answer. i just figured i'd get a little more practice with cvs and maybe if i was using the devel version that would bring me a little closer to working on development myself and finally giving back to the project. so if nothing else here's a little bug for more experienced folks to play with and i'll go to a differenty version if i need to.

Which branch of the CVS do you use? devel_0_37 impd. What OS are you using? You can always use the installers/packages, you don't need to compile pd yourself. .hc On Saturday, Apr 10, 2004, at 18:56 America/New_York, matthew shanley wrote: i'm trying to use some of the iemlib objects with the cvs version of pd. most load fine, but dsp and pink~ don't load at all. this is using iemlib 1.15 downloaded just today, and the cvs pd downloaded and compiled a few days ago (just checked and nothing for main pd seems to have changed in the meantime). i tried copying a 1.14 version of iemlib off another machine and still got the same problems, so perhaps this a problem in the cvs pd? any ideas? thanks in advance and let me know if there's anything i can do to help pin down the problem. matt _______________________________________________ PD-list mailing list PD-list@iem.at http://iem.at/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pd-list ______________________________________________________________________ ______ "Information wants to be free." -Stewart Brand

thanks for catching that - i don't know when i'll learn to hit reply all. i'm trying the devel version now, i'll see if that changes things at all once it's compiled.

Oh, actually, Hans, the actual branch is tagged as impd_0_37, in case anyone is looking for it.
