Hi developers,
i am working on a "cleaned" version of a mac OSX extended Installer and i am almost there.
Is thee a place where i can put it so that others can download it ??? Do i need dev-acces for that (sourceforge, wiki-page) ?
What about a repository for external binaries (in this case pd_darwin) ? Is it going to be created ? That would be good, since there are some intel-compatible darwin-bins missing ?
Have a nice weekend
Luigi

You don't need dev-access just for hosting some files, and CVS is not meant to be for binaries anyways. You can instead create an account on puredata.info and host files there. That's what the community page is for as well.
And then I suppose Hans will be glad to include any bugfixes you made into the official installers.
Ciao

just if you haven't noticed: i have added you to the pd-devs a few weeks ago. (right after you posted your accountname)
if you don't really need it, i will happily remove you again ;-)

Are you sure? I think you mean Luke Iannini, not Luigi Rensinghoff.

Hm sorry guys...
i am talking about a file that is 70 MB. And for some reason the ftp acces doesnt work. I tried all kinds of compinations.
Do i need dev access for that ? Just to be sure:
ftp://soundgigi@puredata.info:8021/pd/pd/Members/soundgigi/soundgigi
should be the URL
night all

No. Files that big normally have no reason to be in the Sourceforge-CVS and you only need dev-access for putting files into the CVS.
OTOH there is no "dev-access" for puredata.info

oh, might be; sorry for the confusion...but the subject was so similar...

no, BUT:
puredata.info is still not the place where you should store such amounts of data. uploading it to the website will store the data within the database system (instead of the filesystem) leading to degradation of the webservice of puredata.info
please do not do that.
we are currently trying to find a solution to this problem, so that file-uploads are not stored within the zodb database but instead are just saved as normal files. (georg, move on!) even then, the we cannot guarantee that everybody can store large amounts of data (currently there are 1880 members of puredata.info; we are not google who can offer 2GB mailbox space for everybody, unless people are willing to donate...)
the right place to upload such things would be the sourceforge release system.
Just to be sure:
ftp://soundgigi@puredata.info:8021/pd/pd/Members/soundgigi/soundgigi

no. ftp has been locked. use webdav-ssl: webdavs://soundgigi@puredata.info/Members/soundgigi (for smaller data...)
