hi, i cannot remember the status of the discussion regarding svn:externals for _internal_ (that is: within the repository) references.
e.g. i want to share an "include" folder between various externals which is trivial if you can guarantee that they are all checked out in parallel. however, i want to be able to check them out separately and not having to bother about checking out another directory separately.
the default (e.g. for Pd-extended) builds could well be to not-use the reference but the real directory (so hans can still use "--ignore-externals").
i guess i just give it a try.

I want to get the Pd-extended 0.41.4 release out soon but I don't have a lot of time right now. Adding svn:externals and setting up --ignore- externals will inevitably slow that process down. Can it wait? Or can there be a separate folder for externals?

yes it can wait, if it's not too long.
can there be a separate folder for externals?
in this special case this would be counterproductive (this is not be a made a flamewar about pulling in remote Pd-externals; it's about externals already in the repository)

If someone besides me is willing to handle setting up the --ignore- externals stuff and the repercussion quickly, as they arise, then I would have no objections to including svn:externals.

what is the schedule for the next Pd-extended release?
which of the various scripts is used to actually checkout/update the svn repository for the nightly bulds?

Will this cause every checkout of the whole trunk to contain a multitude of copies of the folder referred to by svn:externals ? One copy per svn:externals attribute that is set...
