believe or not, that is:
$ set|grep LANG LANG=it_IT LANGUAGE=it_IT $ unset LANG LANGUAGE $ set|grep LANG $ pd -jack priority 6 scheduling enabled. priority 8 scheduling enabled. Enhanced3DNow! detected bad screen distance "75,000000" <--this is after creating [plugin~] object
(I keep pd-dev in CC, hoping in something good)
ciao!

Mmmmhhhhh...
I'm dubious about that it doesn't work...
It used to give me exactly the same error.
Wht I do now is starting Pd by typing:
unset LANG && pd
And [plugin~] starts well, fonts displayed correctly.

I tried unsetting lang, but still have this problem. maybe I have to recompile pd/plugin~ without locales? btw I noticed some errors (to stderr, not on pd console), and after creating the plugin~ object it says 'bad screen distance', and selection of [invisible] text gives errors too.

Hi Federico,
I used to have this problem as well, the only solution i found (which, I must admit, is not completely satisfying; more a trick than a solution) is putting: "$ unset LANG" before starting pd in the terminal...
I think it might be a problem with [plugin~] itself.
Anyone has an idea?

hello,
I just checked out the externals module in CVS. I reinstalled plugin~ and still have this problem: I try to instantiate a [plugin~ /usr/lib/ladspa/gverb_1216.so] object: all characters on canvas disappear. see the attached image.
Does anyone have this problem?
