hi all,
would it be possible to implement a repository mirroring in trunk/abstractions/pdmtl for pdmtl abstractions:
At the bottom of http://subversion.tigris.org/ :
Repository mirroring
Subversion supplies a utility, svnsync for synchronizing (via either push or pull) a read-only slave repository with a master repository.

why not just use an external reference? are there problems with the server-load on goto10?

we would like to include pdmtl abstractions in the auto-build. would it be possible with an external reference?
yes. when doing a checkout, external references will appear to be part of the repository, even though they are living on a different server. in contrast to a read-only copy, you _can_ edit and commit changes to the code, you will just need write-access on the upstream-server. (look at it as a kind of advanced ACL :-))

excellent solution! how to make this happen?
trunk/abstractions/pdmtl/ (already there, but very old)
to sync with :
*svn co https://devel.goto10.org/svn/pdmtl/trunk/pdmtl https://devel.goto10.org/svn/pdmtl/trunk
*of course, i can ask alexandre quessy if you are too busy (alex have a developer account on pd-svn i think).

That's quite nice. It means one can use the repo as a release distribution system (which the repo imho widely is used for) with a dev repo in a separate place, then "sync" http://some-svn-repo/tags/ (instead of /trunk). Right?

Btw, are you 100% sure that the pdmtl collection will stay 100% abstractions? because, if you ever want to put one tiny external in it, they'll make you switch it to /trunk/externals/pdmtl, so, you may want to do this preemptively.
In my case, the external wasn't an "external" as you might imagine it. The tiny C file only defined aliases for existing classes, no new classes, but because it involved compiling C, it caused the whole project to be rejected from /trunk/abstractions.

afaik, pdmtl abs are dependent on some externals and some of them are specifically made for pdmtl abs. afaik, those were developed by tof and are included in externals/tof. i don't see a need to put any c file into the pdmtl folder itself, so this won't be a problem.
after all, i think too, that the abstractions folder should really only contain abstractions.
