Hi Miller, list, I've made the following tiny patch to tabwrite~ so i can begin recording to a table at an arbitrary sample position. instead of banging tabwrite~ you can send it 'start 123' and it will start recording at sample position 123. I need this because i want to make long audio recordings but i might not want to start recording the whole thing at the beginning.
Regards,
Chris.

Yes. Also, I want to "patch" it to allow you to specify the exact number of samples to record so you can "punch" in to any sub-segment....
cheers Miller

Do you mean that you can start recording at some point and it will insert the data at that point, expanding the array? That would be neat. Also very cool would be if you could record past the end of an array and have it dynamically resize itself as you do so. Perhaps i'll have a shot at this when i get home.

Chris.

Dear Everybody.
I'm learning CVS, and i'm looking for a sumerise of what's already in the CVS tree.
Is the goal to make a complete pd distribution, with all his externals ?
any usefull link ?
something else to know ?
should I include Xgui and/or pd-internal msg in the tree ?
Cheers, Damien.
P.S.: for windows beginner about CVS (like me ;-) :

try http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/pure-data/

i think the original goal was to make a distribution of as many externals ap. i m sure this has expanded in the heads of the ppl invoved by now.
|any usefull link ? |something else to know ? | |should I include Xgui and/or pd-internal msg in the tree ?

Hi, Damien HENRY hat gesagt: // Damien HENRY wrote:

pure-data.sf.net currently is divided into three parts: externals, abstractions, pd.
The "pd" part is a place for experimental branches of Pd and includes a patched Pd with support for e.g. Jack. But there also is an official version of Pd available there.
In the "abstractions" directory there are useful abstractions that don't need compiling.
"externals" keeps externals and the ultimate goal is to have a complete package of all pd-externals in the world, that can be compiled in one step on all operationg systems with all compilers. This isn't easy.
Both "abstractions" and "externals" have subdirectories for groups of externals like ext13, zexy or footils.
Is the goal to make a complete pd distribution, with all his externals ?
I think so.
should I include Xgui and/or pd-internal msg in the tree ?
That would be great, IMO. Is pd-interal msg documentation? Maybe we should add a "doc" directory to pd-CVS as well, which could host for example the PDDP docs also.
ciao

This is a great idea, I would love to be able to check in fixes to the docs.

Dear all.
cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sf.net/cvsroot/pure-data -m"dh7 version for pd34" doc/p => cvs [server aborted]: "import" requires write access to the repository
I certainly miss something somewhere...
(like a password maybe ???)
Guenter, is you who give the access permission to do some import ?
Cheers, Damien.

You need to have a SourceForge account to do this. Its free, you sign up on the site: http://sf.net
Also, I have access, so I could do the import for you, if you'd like.
