Attached is another version using [namecanvas] ... and showing, why this object is deprecated, plus a version, that doesn't even need [namecanvas] to crash. I tried to strip this down to a single message box, but unfortunatly it didn't work...
As discussed previously, [namecanvas] should not be deprecated because it provides key functionality that nothing else does (AFAIK). You can use [namecanvas] to send messages to individual instances of an object written in Pd.
