hi list,
it's a long time .... hope you all are doing well :)
sorry no previous experience with Tracker: just a question, what's the suposed way to act in such a tracker task ?
I went to the patch view and just changed the "Resolution" field as "Accepted" ... it's supposed Tracker should apply the patch automatically ? or I must download the patch and make the commit myself?
thanks! ll.

Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: externals Group: documentation Status: Open
Resolution: Accepted
Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Ricardo Fabbri (ricardofabbri) Assigned to: lluís gómez i bigordà (lluisbigorda) Summary: better install instructions to pix_opencv
Initial Comment: This is a tiny fix to the INSTALL file to show how to install the help files. More steps were are added so that the install solution is cleaner.
PS: I am also using this to practice submitting patches to the Pd community. Hopefully I will soon manage to get commit access and will stop bugging the tracker with tiny patches.

Message: We might have to wait until bug #3390786 gets fixed. However, I vote to include these instructions anyways as the bug must get fixed soon I suppose.

Message: Hello, the instructions in this patch are not goint to work well with the current pd-extended, since it is not saving the new PATH into ~/.pdextended, seemingly because the path is from the pd-extended installation directory and it is being handled differently. I propose to tell the user to put the PATH straight to a directory with pix_opencv *outside* pd-extended installation directory. I would say it is bug on its own of pd-extended to filter out paths that are in its own installation directory. However, I propose a solution which will work in this case as well, but will not allow the user to cleanly install pix_opencv to the whole system. The attached patch is the new instructions I propose.

Message: just letting you know the patch is against the pix_opencv external inside the svn repository for Pd.
