Miller has some hidden secrets, I am not really sure how he does it. I have some tricks as well, they are in packages/darwin_app/ Makefile :)
It's a shame Millers doesn't want do share his tricks.
To be fair, he did give me the code when I asked for it a while back. I mean more it's not in CVS or in the source downloads.
I again tried to imitate the darwin_app_wrapper target but got no further -- i skipped the if condition as i've build up against the Tcl/Tk in /System though through symlinks in /Library/Frameworks. That's my main trouble maker suspect.
I'll dig deeper into your tricks. I think there are some fundamental stuff about make that i don't know enough about to get to the juice. But i've found the GNU Make book online [1] and will see if it can help me dig.
My goal is to skin your /packages/Darwin_app/Makefile to get light Makefile that can be dropped into the vanilla src folder as a replacement that can build a .app application.
It would be good to work on pd/src/makefile.in. Then you can submit a patch, and then pd-vanilla could build an app from the main sources.
