i hope it works rightly. it even compiles without changes :)
:) true, just dropped it into my debian/patches folder of the puredata debian package, dpkg-buildpackage - works.
I have uploaded a 0.38test8 version to debian experimental, for those who have debian and don't want to patch/compile:
deb ftp://ftp.**.debian.org/debian experimental main
Should hit the mirrors tomorrow.

also did a minor update on the patch for the cvs, .
Please, upload the patch against 0.38test8 to the patches tracker.

Tim uploaded several patches already and Miller will have a fine selection of patches to put into 0.38. The alsa midi stuff should definitely be there.

Its really easy to use. Works very well for basic midi messages.
what do you mean with basic messages? I already fixed all the kinds of messages, so it should run smoothly with all midi objects (if i'm not forgetting anything important, well, maybe raw midi is still not working)
I meant that was all I tried. I didn't try anything else but sending noteon events. even better if everything works :)
i originally programmed the patch for test8, if i'm not wrong, so i can also make a patch for it if you think it'd be useful.
if you are planning to upload it to the sourceforge patch tracker, I think it is better to patch against test8, because thats the most recent version we have AFAIK.
