Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: tmurder (tmurder) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: gripd fails to compile on gcc > 4.2.x
Initial Comment: The autobuild process doesn't even try to build it, or install anything beyond some text files and help patches. Please see attached patches which allow my gcc-4.3.2 to compile. 1) Array.cpp uses some members of a base class (Collection) without dependent context. "this->" applied liberally. 2) Sequencer_alsa.h defined some members with an extra Sequencer_alsa:: qualifier---unneeded. 3) MidiInPort_{oss,alsa}.h have functions which call upon a friend function which is not defined within the scope of the relevant MidiInPort class. Thus, the function is not within the scope of the class. Just added a declaration in the relevant header file. Alternatively, -ffriend-injection may be passed to gcc. This topic was obscure to me, see link for discussion: http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-help/2007-05/msg00222.html Solution inferred from here: http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.1/changes.html
